Exploring Abu Dhabi #Day Trip, Grand Mosque

Beautiful Ceiling #Grand Mosque

This month have been very pleasant. Friends visiting. Doing quite a lot of catching up and travelling. Having Dubai day trip with BroJon. Chilling with friends from Malaysia, going for Desert Safari again was still interesting and fun. Today we will be sharing our day trip to Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. Mainly to visit the Grand Mosque while doing some quick stops.

We departed from the Gloria Hotel Dubai in the late morning, took us about 35min to reach Yas Island of Abu Dhabi. We first visited the famous Yas Mall, where you can find the Ferrari World Theme Park. I already did a posting, click Ferrari World for more! Very interesting place. Spend some time there, and then we went for a drive around Abu Dhabi City.

Red Bull Air Race

And yes, our next stop we stumbled upon the famous Red Bull Air Race while driving around the city towards the Abu Dhabi Marina Mall. Really cool event! Abu Dhabi have been hosting the Red Bull Air Race for the ninth time now for the brand new World Championship season.

Hot Hot Hot!
The Aerial  RaceTrack. Spot the Plane?

Finally around 4pm, we started our journey towards the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque! Well it was Friday, hence the Mosque only opens for visitors at 4.30pm due to prayers. Btw, if you ever planned a visit there, do follow the dress code if not you are not allowed entry.

Arrived at the Visitors Parking!

Yeah! Finally we are actually visiting the famous Grand Mosque. Been waiting two years!

View After Entry Point

There was a huge que outside due to the crowd and also requirements to pass through security checking. We finally got in, and wow, the place was beautiful!

At the Front
Beautiful V... Wifey!

Vision and Dream Statement. The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque was a dream in the heart of the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al-Nahyan "May God rest his Soul" where he establish its general vision, set its foundation stone, and crowned thereby a journey full of fulfilled dreams and great achievements. The Mosque is an expression of a visionary leader who believed that nothing is impossible and conceived that the most gracious achievements start from the heart.

The Centre

Such pure colour. The pure white colour of the Mosque interest me the most. The whole exterior is mainly white, cladded with white marble. Beautiful.

Beautiful Architecture
The Entrance to Inside

The Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque have always been a recognized attraction and now i know why. Such grand building, amazingly beautiful, with sure pure colour and was said to be clad with SIVEC marble from Macedonia.

Amazing Architecture

Amazing! Is like every part of the building surface you see was carefully and artistically designed to fits into the overall visions of a Grand Mosque.

Amazing Designs

Honestly love the carpet design. Definitely stands for its title for housing the world's largest hand-knotted carpet. Was another fulfilling day today! Honestly i would be back with more preparation to take better photography.

Next up, The World in One Village #Global Village.

Is the plane flying on top of the tallest building in the photo?

The mosque is so grand, must be very expensive to build it.

Hi Irvine, I was referring to the tallest building in your photo with the caption "The Aerial RaceTrack. Spot the Plane?". I was guessing the location of the plane which I think is on top of the tallest building in your photo in your post. I don't know anything about any tallest building in Dubai nor in Abu Dhabi. Don't even know which building is burj khalifa.

Ah kk misread the question which brings another meaning. and yes it was flying up and above the building. unfortunately i am using a wide angle lense, hence, photo are all so wide that things afar so small.

mun said...

Small but still can see a bit of the plane outline.
