Looking for some delicious Lobsters, Red Lobster @ Dubai Mall

Red Lobster

We went to try out Red Lobster tonight. One of America's best seafood restaurant in the Middle East. Famous for their delicious and daily fresh seafood, especially lobsters.

We wanted to try it out quite awhile now, however, it looks expensive (looking at the restaurant's design) so we usually avoid. To my surprise, this restaurant is something like TGIF, Chilis, etc. when comes to pricing and food. Glad that we finally stepped in.

The Entrance. Got this from the Website.

The ambiance was certainly nice, food was well prepared and tasteful. You get to choose fresh living lobsters too!

The Menu

My favourites as usual, starting with complimentary Cheddar Biscuits, slightly salty but quite delicious. Then moving on to our soup, Clam Chowder (AED 17.00), one of my favourite soups. Very creamy, very tasty.

Next our drink, the fresh and flavourful Mojito (AED 18.00). I enjoyed this drink for its freshness. Then moving on to our main course, firstly my choice, all-in-one, Wood-Fire Grilled Lobster, Shrimp & Scallops (AED 119.00). A split of lobster tail with skewered shrimp and scallops. Delicious buttery garlic finish served with wild rice pilaf. Was pretty good. For my partner, as usual she went for Steak, this time is Steak Lobster & Shrimp Oscar (AED109.00). A wood-fire grilled NY Strip smothered with buttery lobster and shrimp sauce. It was delicious.

To really enjoy this place you need to be a seafood fan. Yes i am a seafood fan, but am also allergy to seafood! So i carefully chow down the dishes, having more steaks than lobsters. Ensuring nothing happen every minute hehe.

Location : Lower Ground Floor, Dubai Mall,
Near to the exit for the Fountain.
Rating   : 3.8 / 5

Will i be back? When i am craving for Lobsters.

They have this franchise here as well, KL and Penang, if I am not mistaken.

Not into lobsters so much - would rather go for our freshwater big-head prawns - lots and cheap in Sarikei & Bintangor, not that affordable in Sibu. :( The meat is not as hard, firm and succulent and sweeter and tastier.

Wei the prices seem to correlate with the prices in their KL outlet. I reckon that's cheap? I remember food prices in Dubai usually 2-3 times more expensive...

Sure looks fresh with generous portioning.

Suituapui i believe there is one in KL, as i came across bloggers talking about them. i do agree with you when comes to value for money. I am not a lobster expert, i cant differentiate the taste much compared to prawns.

Hi Real Gunners, it is very subjective question and answer about prices. In KL you do get many cheap food like below RM10 which almost impossible to find in Dubai. But proper international restaurants are actually very comparable in price. Some cheaper/some more expensive. Dubai can also come cheaper when you get services and government tax in Malaysia.

Indeed YumList.

Mun you gotta try. Pretty good.

Nancy yes it is tasty. Good to hear that u had Lobsters in HK!

THanks Sybil.

What a great post, Irvine! I love the photos you are sharing, and the ambiance and presentations are beautiful! The dishes and clam chowder look delicious! Here in Montreal, Canada, we used to have Red Lobster but they closed down those restaurants. :(

Irvine Chin said...

CQUEK thx!

Hi Linda, thanks :D great to hear you are enjoying yourself. darn.., canada as a cold country should have better seafoods restaurants perhaps?.

Hi Irvine, I think I know why Red Lobster is no longer here in Quebec. See, everything is French here, which means that they may have had to change their restaurant name to a French one...Homard Rouge, I guess. LOL! Sad, I know, but I guess they didn't want to have to bother with this hassle so they closed all their restaurants in Quebec. However, they still have restaurants in other provinces of Canada, but in those provinces they are not obliged to change their name so....:(

Hi Linda! Ah something new to me, a place in canada that predominantly french. Haha, hope you get to try redlobster one day. I wont say theyy are very very good but is value for money.
