Exploring Dubai - World Largest Mall cum World Tallest Building

Living in Dubai have been a great experience, a modern city in the desert. Great Contemporary Architectures. Trying to be the next Gotham City, with plenty of skyscrapers. Along beatiful beaches. A whole new experience exploring the Middle East. Great exposures. Meeting new people. Variety of cultural blend. Beautiful ladies. Cough.

Started from my post about my career plans, Middle East Part of the Plan. Making my plan a reality, and exploring Dubai by living here myself, from stretch. Hence, i came out with a Quick Guide to the Middle East, Dubai.

After all the boring rantings. Of course, something interest, something anyone should do after coming to the desert country, Desert Safari - Dune Bashing!

And now, something HoT, checking out the World Largest Mall cum World Tallest Building. The Dubai Mall and Burj Khalifah!

Dubai Metro Map

Getting There

Easy, take the metro, and just head to Dubai Mall Station, it is all connected, indoors! The metro fares are very cheap, say from Dubai Marina Station to Dubai Mall Station will cost you less than 10 Dirhams, return.

What i like about Dubai Mall
Large Indoor Aquarium
Underwater Entrance
The picture says it, amazingly huge indoor aquarium! Plenty to see. There is a admission for underwater tunnel and rain forest safari, about 100 Dirhams. Also you can go diving in the aquarium itself!, about 600 Dirhams.

I love fishes. I always have fresh water fish at home, although they dont survive, feeling guilty*. However, i have made many research in order to give them a good home, i have two pearl gold fish before i came to Dubai, now under the care of my parents. God Bless...

Shopping and Souvenirs

Shopping is plentiful here, only, and only you love branded. There are huge variety of branded goods. Therefore, if you are looking for something of good quality. You will definitely enjoy your shopping experience here. Well, you do get cheap goods too.
Waterfall of Death?
Hehe, this is a really stunning waterfall. However, to me it does gave me some bad thoughts. Kamikaze.

Luxury Shopping Section

 Walking with Dino
The DubaiDino
The Diplodocus Longus! Long Neck! Nick name, Dubai Dino! Flew all the way in from America. Nice. It is fun walking around the World Largest Mall while checking out the large aquarium and dino bones.

Musical Fountain

Thinking that's all you get? That's not all, one more big highlights, the World Largest Musical Fountain. Beautiful! It plays every 30min starting after 6pm. The musical is always different within the same day. Believe it or not, it can shoot water up as high as a 50-storey building. Throughout my travel to different countries, this is the best.

Before and After
Btw, this view is taken from TGIF in Dubai Mall. Best restaurant for best view of the dubai fountain. Of course, nice food.

Dinner is Served

The Burj Khalifah

Time for the main highlight, the world tallest building. 163 Floors. 828m. Burj Khalifa. Tickets fees are about 125 Dirhams.

The Burj Khalifah Tickets

Finally, time to witness the tallest free standing structure in the world. Lets enjoy the stunning views.

View From The Top, Observatory Deck

View Towards City. Main Highway Sheik Zayed Road.

View Towards Outer Side of Dubai City
View Towards Down Town Dubai
One of the most beautiful views i have ever witnessed. And now, two pictures i got from the internet. Showing the before Burj Khalifah was built, so as the Dubai City itself, and after it was built.

Say, about 6 years after?
This my experience. Paying my visit to the Dubai Mall-cum-Burj Khalifah. It was great. Hope you pay your visit soon!

i've been to Dubai for 3 times and each time a 3-week business trip.. it was back in 2005 and there was still no metro, no Burj Khalifa, and many constructions for mega projects were still ongoing.. how i wish i can go back there and see the difference after so many years.. :)

sk, i am really interested to know what kind of business trip you are having during those time.

Yeah, it is totally different now. a 100% change i guess.

However, during those time bet you are making very good money!

not really a "business" trip.. my company then (ex ex company now) had a project with a bank there, so i was sent there to liaise with the users on requirements and then to conduct the POC testing..

mun, coming to dubai now is cheap. with MAS Airlines, it is a good offer cmg!

suituapui, oh that's good to hear. all the best to them. Yup! Come! I will bring you around!

sk, at least that's a fine business trip. Although it will be better if you are coming ten years after.
